The West End production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical has announced new casting today.
Joining the show is Natalia Kassanga (Crazy for You, Dreamgirls) as Satine who will join Dom Simpson (The Book of Mormon) who will continue his role as Christian. Craig Ryder (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) is set to take over as Harold Zidler.
Also joining the show are Dex Lee (The Scottsboro Boys) as Toulouse-Lautrec; Helen K Wint (Oklahoma!), joining Hannah Jay-Allan (Beautiful), in alternating the role of Arabia; and Matteo Johnson (Bat Out of Hell) as Baby Doll.
Continuing their roles in the show are Ben Richards (Emmerdale) as The Duke, Ivan De Freitas (& Juliet) as Santiago, Charlotte Gooch (Dirty Dancing) as Nini, Bernadette Bangura as La Chocolat, and Angela Marie Hurst as Alternate Satine.
Full casting also includes Oliver Adam-Reynolds, Takaiyah Bailey, Erin Bell, Emily Bolland, Ross Chisari, Athena Collins, James Davies-Williams, Katie Deacon, Serenar Douch, Rola Elliott, Myles Hart, Grace Hawksworth, Maiya Hikasa, Melvin LeBlanc, Tom Mather, Kira McPherson, Paul Mukembo, Dean Read, Ben Rutter, Gavin Ryan, Mark Samaras, Jamie Shields, Catrin Thomas, Lindsey Tierney, Alex Tranter, Matt Trevorrow, Kevin Tristan, Ben Whitnall, and Sasha Woodward.
The stage musical is based on the 2001 award-winning film that starred Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. It follows the story of two young lovers from two very different worlds who start a secret relationship. In a place where aristocrats and bohemians rub shoulders, they will find out if love really does conquer all. The jukebox musical features a variety of songs from many legendary artists including Elton John, David Bowie, Lady Gaga, and Beyonce.
The new cast will join the show from the 14 October 2024.
