Oedipus (Closing 4 January)
Wyndham’s Theatre
Robert Icke’s new adaptation of Sophocles’ Oedipus opened at the Wyndham’s Theatre in autumn 2024. Starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville the production has received glowing reviews.
The modern-day take on the Greek tragedy is set on election night with Oedipus as a politician poised for victory. The explosive political thriller is a must see before it closes this month.
Oedipus closes on 4 January 2025.

Guys & Dolls (Closing 4 January)
Bridge Theatre
The hit musical comedy Guys & Dolls is coming to an end at the Bridge Theatre. Nicholas Hytner’s immersive take on the classic musical has been a huge hit in London for the past couple of years.
The tale of New York gamblers, gangsters and nightclub singers features an array of Broadway tunes. Songs like Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat, Luck be a Lady and of course the title song.
Guys & Dolls is playing at the Bridge Theatre in London until 4 January 2025.
The Lehman Trilogy (Closing 5 January)
Gillian Lynne Theatre
The National Theatre and Neal Street productions’ multi-award winning drama returned to the West End in September last year. The award-winning play opened at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre for a strcitly limited season.
Directed by Sam Mendes, written be Stefano Massini and adapted by Ben Power, the production was a huge hit when it first played in London. Told in three acts, the play uses three actors to play the Lehman brothers, their sons and their grandsons.
The Lehman Trilogy must end 5 January 2025.

Barcelona (Closing 11 January)
Duke of York’s Theatre
Starring Emily in Paris star Lily Collins and Money Heist’s Álvaro Morte, Barcelona opened in the West End in October 2024. The brand new play has enjoyed a sell out 12-week season at the Duke of York’s Theatre.
The play follows a young American woman who whilst away on a hen weekend in Barcelona meets a handsome Spaniard. The romantic fantasy soon takes a turn in this funny, sex and surprising play.
Written by American screenwriter and playwright Bess Wohl, Barcelona is directed by Lynette Linton who previously directed Shifters at the same theatre.
Barcelona closes on 11 January 2025.
Why Am I So Single? (Closing 19 January)
Garrick Theatre
From the writers of the hit musical SIX, Why Am I So Single is a new comedy musical that opened in London earlier this year. Playing at the Garrick Theatre, the show has attracted a cult following since it opened.
Written Tony Award winners Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow, the musical follows two best friends who are writing a new musical and struggling with modern day dating.
Why Am I So Single must end on 19 January 2025.
Dr. Strangelove (Closing 25 January)
Noel Coward Theatre
Another West End show that is closing this month is the comedy play Dr. Strangelove. The show opened at the Noel Coward Theatre in October 2024.
Stanley Kubrick’s iconic film is brought to life on stage in London’s West End. Starring BAFTA Award winning actor Steve Coogan as Dr Strangelove himslef. This is the first ever adaptation of the legendary film-maker’s work.
This black comedy follows a rogue U.S. General who triggers a nuclear crisis. The production is co-adapted by acclaimed, BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Armando Iannucci and co-adapted and directed by Olivier Award winner Sean Foley.
Dr. Strangelove closes on 25 January 2025.
