Stage superstars Billy Porter and Marisha Wallace join the cast of Cabaret in the West End at the end of the month. Here’s a sneak peek of them behind the scenes in the rehearsal room. They will join the cast from 28 January 2025.

Billy Porter will take on the role of The Emcee. Billy is an Emmy, Tony and Grammy award winner. His first major role was as Lola in Kinky Boots, for which he won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He also starred in the television series Pose. For this performance he was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards and won the 2019 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama. For this he became the first gay black man to win any lead acting category at the Emmys. He went on to win another Tony award in 2022 as the producer for the musical A Strange Loop, which won Best Musical.

Marisha Wallace will takeover as Sally Bowles. Marisha is a musical theatre icon. She starred in the original Broadway casts of Aladdin in 2024 and Something Rotten! in 2015. She also played the role of Effie White in the West End production of Dreamgirls. In March 2023 she joined the cast of Guys and Dolls at the Bridge Theatre, in the rolle of Miss Adelaide. For this she was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

The pair are taking over from current stars of the show Katherine Langford and Adam Gillen who will play their final performances on Saturday 25 January.

Also joining the cast of Cabaret this month is Vivien Parry, returning to the role of Fraulein Schneider. The current cast of the show also includes Daniel Bowerbank as Clifford Bradshaw, Fenton Gray as Herr Schultz, Fred Haig as Ernst Ludwig and Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie. The Cabaret cast is completed by Xenoa Campbell-Ledgister, Sam Darius, Damon Gould Adrian Grove, El Haq Latief, Justin-Lee Jones, Ela Lisondra, Hícaro Nicolai, Andy Rees Alexandra Regan, Marina Tavolieri, Ben Simon Wilson, Anne-Marie Wojna, Patrick Wilden and Lucy Young.

The prologue company are Rachel Benson, Ami Benton, Onyemachi Ejimofor, Joseph Hardy, Liz Kamille, Andrew Linnie, Aine McLoughlin, Jack William Parry, Jazmyn Raikes, Oliver Stockley and Ena Yamaguchi.

The West End production of Cabaret, directed by Rebecca Frecknall is the winner of a record-breaking 7 Olivier Awards. Cabaret features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff. The musical score includes iconic musical theatre hits such as Wilkommen, Maybe This Time and the title number, Cabaret.
