Olivier, Tony and Oscar Award Nominee Colman Domingo will be attending an exclusive post show Q&A after the evening production of Retrograde on Thursday 29th May. Domingo is known for his extensive work within the performing arts, most notably the ground breaking film, Sing Sing and The Four Seasons on Netflix. Domingo is an actor, director, playwright and on this play, a producer.
Colman Domingo will discuss the show alongside the writer of the play, Ryan Calais Cameron. Cameron is also the writer of the smash hit, sold-out show For Black Boys… which sold out at both of its West End runs at The Apollo Theatre and subsequently The Garrick Theatre.
Retrograde is currently playing at The Apollo Theatre for a limited run. The show must end on 14th June before Fawlty Towers reopens at the venue.
Retrograde tells the story of Sidney Poitier, the first black man to win an oscar. It is a gripping thriller which captures the moment where he is about to sign a career-defining, Hollywood contract. However, there is a catch. Will he put his career before his principles?
The show has transferred from The Kiln Theatre following critical acclaim. The direction is by Amit Sharma and it stars Ivanno Jeremiah, Stanley Townsend and Oliver Johnstone.
Regarding the upcoming Q&A, Colman Domingo said the following:
“I am delighted with the incredible response Retrograde has so far received in the West End and excited to have a Q&A in order to continue the discussion beyond this 90-minute thriller off-stage with Ryan Calais Cameron. It is going to be enriching and inspiring and I cannot wait to engage with the audience.”
Retrograde is playing at The Apollo Theatre and must close on 14th June.
