Troubadour Theatre are opening a new venue in Greenwich next Autumn!

The new venue is set to be huge. It will feature not one, but two auditoriums with a capacity of 1500 each. The new venue will be at Greenwich Peninsula in South East London.
The theatre company already has one groundbreaking new venue open with one more on the way. Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre is their current venue which is home of Starlight Express. It is not far from the Wembley Arena and opened in 2019.
The company’s newest venue, the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, is mere months from opening. It will house the exciting new stage adaptation of the Hunger Games which is opening on 20th October 2025. You can read more about the production and its cast, here.
The new theatre announced today, will be in the heart of the new Greenwich Peninsula Developement. The development already has plan 5500 residents as well as 180 business, so we can expect this area to be a new thriving spot.
The founder of Troubadour, Oliver Royds and Tristan Baker said the expansion marks “a thrilling new chapter”. They also said:
“As the waiting list for West End theatres gets longer, we’re delighted that these new theatres will allow us to welcome even more ambitious productions and provide audiences with unforgettable live experiences. We can’t wait to share what’s coming next.”
The announcement of the New Troubadour Theatre venue is certainly exciting. As Troubadour are trail-blazers for new productions and creativity, we can’t wait to see which innovative production they announce as their inaugral production at the brand new venue.
