The producers of Tina have announced that pop star and presenter Fleur East will be joining the cast as their new leading lady. She will be sharing the role with the current star of the show, Karis Anderson.
This will be both a West End and theatrical debut for Fleur East. The company will announce the remaining 2025/2026 casting in the coming months. The X Factor East introduced to us all to East back in 2014. After being a contestant as part of a group back in 2004 but it was her solo appearance that made her a name. She was announced runner up at the semi finals however her finale song made her the first ever X Factor contestant to hit number 1 on the UK ITunes Store Chart. Her most popular song is probably “Sax” and has since made appearances on many radio and TV shows.
Fleur East certainly has the vocal capacity to play the title role of Tina Turner. Tina follows the life of the legendary artist and features her songs. It has been running at the Aldwych Theatre since 2018 and recently announced it’s extension into 2026. This makes it the longest running show to ever play at this venue.
Regarding the announcment, Producer Tali Pelman said:
“I am a huge admirer of Fleur East, who has always struck me as an extraordinary woman; an exceptional talent who, like Tina Turner, will not allow herself to be defined by others. Fleur’s generosity, optimism, kindness and determination are all qualities that are truly Tina… I am tremendously excited that our journey together has begun!”
Fleur East will make her West End Debut in this iconic role from 24 June to 13 September 2025. East and Anderson are sharing the role so patrons are advised to check the website for East’s performance dates.
