Rebecca Lucy Taylor from Self Esteem is starring in the newly opened Teeth ‘n’ Smiles at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Today the production released first look images of her and the cast in action. This 50th anniversary production of David Hare’s trailblazing play is now running at the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre for a strictly limited season until 6th June 2026.

Teeth ‘n’ Smiles is set at the end of the 60s. Rebecca Lucy Taylor plays Maggie Frisby. Once a trailblazer of the swinging sixties, her and her band are performing to an indifferent audience at Cambridge Uni. They are broke, burned out, and fuelled by alcohol and resentment. David Hare’s play is filled with rebellious energy and gritty resilience that remains as powerful as ever, especially regarding women in the music industry.

This play with original music includes new songs written for the revival at The Duke of York’s Theatre. Joining Rebecca Lucy Taylor in the cast are Michael Fox as Arthur and Phil Daniels as Sarrafian.
