Images of Catherine Tate in Oh, Mary rehearsals are here! Catherine Tate is taking on the lead role of Mary Todd Lincoln in the recent Olivier Award Winning play.

Tate is a British comedy icon and a renowned actress. She is known for her own comedy sketch show in which the iconic Nan was born as well as a Doctor Who Assistant. She also appeared at the London Palladiums pantomime and has worked for both the National Theatre and The RSC.

Catherine Tate takes over performances on 27th April. She is taking over from Mason Alexander Park who’s final performance is 25th April. Oh, Mary is about Mary Todd Lincoln. This historically incorrect comedy follows her life. Mary longs for the cabaret stage and is constantly at odds for her closeted, infuriating husband who happens to be the president. The play already had two Tony awards under its belt. They just won an Olivier Award for best new comedy or entertainment show.

Tate joins the cast alongside Scott Karim, who plays Mary’s Husband. The West End premiere cast also currently features Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher, Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, and Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant.
