The Comedy About Spies cast has been confirmed today!
The Comedy About Spies originally ran for 21 weeks at The Noel Coward Theatre. It was so popular in fact that it is now set to open at The Adelphi Theatre. The shows opening won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play and received an Olivier Award nomination for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play.
For this new run, original Mischief member Bryony Corrigan will join the cast playing Elena Popova. All other original West End cast members are returning to this award winning comedy play! David Hearn also returns as Lance Buchanan with Adele James as Rosemary Wilson and Chris Leask as Sergei Ivanov. Henry Lewis plays Douglas Woodbead with Henry Shields playing Bernard Wright and Greg Tannahill as Albert Tipton. Finally, Nancy Zamit returned to her role of Janet Buchanan. Completing The Comedy About Spies cast forming the ensemble are Macadie Amoroso, Adam Byron, Matt Cavendish, Allie Dart, Niall Ransome and Ashley Tucker.
The comedy play is written by Mischief Theatres Henry Lewis and Henry Shields. Who are also responsible for hit shows including The Play That Goes Wrong and Christmas Carol Goes Wrong (can you sense a theme here?).
The story follows a rogue British agent who steals plans for a top-secret weapon. This results in CIA and KGB spies converging on London’s Piccadilly Hotel in search of the file. Not only that, but a young couple, an actor hoping to play James Bond and a number of double agents become caught up in the situation.
