The Hamilton Musical is going to be one of the hottest shows this summer. Why? I hear you ask! well, that is because the legendary Leslie Odom Jr. is crossing the Atlantic to the West End. He actually originated the role of Aaron Burr when the hit musical on Broadway and he is stepping back into the role here in London. So let’s crack on with everything you need to know about the show!

Hamilton is currently playing at The Victoria Palace Theatre. It has played there since its opening in 2017 and is currently booking until March 2027!

Who wrote the Hamilton musical?
Hamilton was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. This musical was the show that really made him a household name! Miranda has since gone on to writing for more projects such as In the Heights and Disney’s Encanto, Disney’s Moana to name a few. his work has seen him win a Pulitzer Prize, five Grammys, three Tony Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Olivier Awards. Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the very foundations of the America we know today. The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway – the story of America then, as told by America now. It follows his life story as told by him and the people around him. The show is entirely sung through, not letting up for a minute. Lin Manuel Miranda was actually inspired by a book! The biography about Hamilton written by Ron Chernow inspired the musical.
