Jinkx Monsoon has officially begun her journey as Mary Todd Lincoln in the West End production of Oh, Mary! The Drag Race 2 time winner has in fact already played this role over on Broadway. There, she sold out her limited 8 week run as the stifled wife of some president.

Monsoon has already been working in London as Judy Garland in fringe productions of Over The Rainbow earlier this year as the newly opened Soho Theatre in Walthamstow. This role however marks her West End debut! You can catch her in the show until 26th September at which point, Lolly Adefope (Ghosts) will step into the ringlets.

Jinkx is the 4th Mary we have seen in the West End since the show opened. Her administration follows Mason Alexander Park, Catherine Tate and Cole Escola the actual writer of this award winning comedy. Oh, Mary! is an absurd comedy play following Mary Todd Lincoln on the run up to her husbands assassination. Sounds heavy right? Wrong! The story follows Mary and her dreams of becoming a cabaret artist. We see Mary tackle acting lessons to make her dreams a reality whilst suppressing her more violent urges and alcoholism.

Oh, Mary! is currently booking at the Trafalgar Theatre until January 2027. You can catch Jinkx in action until 26th September at which point Lolly Adefope is playing Mary until 5th December.
