The award-winning production of Duncan Macmillan’s People Places and Things returns to the West End this month.

People, Places, and Things tickets are available now.

The play follows the story of Emma, an actor battling with addiction. Emma ends up in rehab after she breaks down during a performance on Chekhov’s The Seagull.

People Places and Things first opened at the National Theatre in 2015 and the production then went on to transfer to the Wyndham’s Theatre in 2016. Reprising her award-winning role as Emma is Denise Gough who took home the award for Best Actress at the 2016 Olivier Awards.

The play is directed by Jeremy Herrin, whose previous work includes Long Days Journey Into Night, A Mirror, and Best of Enemies.

One of the nation’s most loved BBC sitcoms of all time has now been adapted for the stage. John Cleese’s Fawlty Towers The Play is coming to the West End this May.

Nearly 50 years after the original show hit our TV Screens, Fawlty Towers The Play is sure to take the West End by storm. The TV show was known for its clever writing, sharp wit, and comic timing, and we’re sure the stage adaptation will be no different.

Fawlty Towers The Play has been adapted for the stage by Cleese himself with direction by Caroline Jay Ranger who previously directed Only Fools and Horses: The Musical.

The production will incorporate three iconic episodes from the original TV series into a 2-hour long play. It will include ‘The Hotel Inspector’, ‘The Germans’ and ‘Communication Problems’, which will be adapted into one coherent storyline.

Heathers The Musical

Based on the 80s cult classic starring Winona Ryder, Heathers The Musical is back but this time at the new Soho Place.

The dark comedy musical first entered the London theatre scene in 2018 at the Other Palace Theatre, before transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket. It then became a permanent fixture back at the Other Palace before closing in September last year. Since then the musical has been on 2 record-breaking national tours and is currently touring the UK.

Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy’s hit musical adaptation follows the story of Veronica Sawyer as she befriends the school’s most popular clique… The Heathers. However, when the rebellious JD enters her life she learns that although it may kill to be a nobody, it certainly murders to be a somebody.

Heathers The Musical will play at Soho Place from 22 May until 6 July 2024.

A View From The Bridge (Opens 22 May)

BAFTA award winner Dominic West is set to star as Eddie Carbone in Arthur Miller’s timeless masterpiece A View From The Bridge.

This West End transfer follows on from the production’s previous run at the Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio earlier this year, where the entire run sold out in under an hour.

Joining West is an all-star cast including Olivier and Tony Award nominee Kate Fleetwood (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows/ Macbeth) and BAFTA Cymru award winner Callum Scott Howells (It’s A Sin/ Romeo and Julie/ Cabaret).

Directed by Lindsay Posner, A View From The Bridge explores themes of jealousy and passion in the close-knit Italian-American community of 1950s New York.

Written by Matthew Floyd Jones and Jon Brittain, the show follows two true crime podcasters who find themselves in the middle of an actual whodunnit when their favourite author is murdered.

My Neighbour Totoro West End transfer


The stage adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki’s beloved same-named 1988 animated film, My Neighbour Totoro has just announced a West End transfer!

The play will run for 34 weeks at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 8 March to 2 November 2025 with opening night on 20 March. It is set to be the theatrical event of the year!


My Neighbour Totoro is set in 1950s Japan and follows the story of two sisters, Satsuki and Mei, who move to the countryside to be with their ill mother. Their new house, in which they
live with their professor father, Tatsuo, is haunted by soot spirits, and there they encounter Totoro, a “forest spirit who looks like the result of an experimental breeding programme involving a chinchilla, a barn owl and a bean-bag sofa”. Totoro, the protector of the forest and a whole host of spirits, who takes the girls into a realm of comfort, magic, and wonder.


The award-winning film premiered in 1988, with a score by Joe Hisaishi, who also scores the stage adaptation. My Neighbour Totoro is brought to life on stage by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi.


My Neighbour Totoro is adapted by Tom Morton-Smith and it first premiered at the Barbican Centre in spring 2022. On 19 May 2022, the production broke the Barbican’s box-office record for ticket sales in one day. This record was previously held by the 2015 production of Hamlet, which starred Benedict Cumberbatch.


My Neighbour Totoro played at the Barbican from 8 October 2022 to 21 January 2023. This production went on to win a huge six Olivier Awards at the ceremony in 2023, including Best Entertainment or Comedy Play and Best Director. It also picked up the awards for Best Costume Design, Lighting Design, Set Design and Sound Design. The show then went on to play another season at the Barbican from 21 November 2023 to 23 March 2024.


The creative team includes production designer Tom Pye, costume designer Kimie Nakano, lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun, orchestrator Will Stuart, sound designer Tony Gayle, and video designers Finn Ross and Andrea Scott. Movement is by You-Ri Yamanaka, and puppetry design and direction are by Basil Twist.


My Neighbour Totoro is an enchanting coming-of-age story exploring the magical fantasy world of childhood and the transformative power of imagination. My Neighbour Totoro is set
to play a 34-week run at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Casting is yet to be announced.

2:22: A Ghost Story Returns to the West End


The Award-winning play 2:22: A Ghost Story is returning to the West End this summer.


The thriller play, written by Danny Robins first premiered in the West End in 2021 and then went on to receive an Olivier Award for Best New Play the following year.


The play follows the story of a woman named Jenny, who believes she is being haunted at 2:22 every night.


2:22: A Ghost Story first opened at the Noel Coward Theatre and starred Lily Allen, Julia Chan,
Hadley Fraser, and Jake Wood. This production was nominated for 3 Olivier Awards in 2022, including Best New Play, Best Actress for Lily Allen, and Best Sound Design.


The play then transferred to the Gielgud Theatre at the end of 2021 with Stephanie Beatriz, James Buckley, Elliot Cowan, and Giovanna Fletcher. Then it moved to the Criterion Theatre for its third run with Tom Felton, Mandip Gill, Beatriz Romilly, and Sam Swainsbury. It was then extended at the Criterion with a brand new cast – Laura Whitmore, Felix Scott, Matt Willis, and Tamsin Carroll. 2:22 went on to do its fourth West End run at the Lyric Theatre, this time with Cheryl Cole, Jakes Wood reprising his role, Lousie Ford, and Scott Karim. Then the fifth West End production of the play was at the Apollo Theatre with Sophia Bush, Ricky Champ, Clifford Samuel, and Jaime Winstone. Sophia Bush had to withdraw from the production due to medical reasons so Frankie Bridge took over her role.


2:22: A Ghost Story returns to London this summer for a sixth season and will play at the Gielgud from 25 May until 4 August 2024. Keep an eye out for tickets and casting announcements here on the LSBO website. Playing for a strictly limited season.

Mrs Doubtfire Announces New West End Cast


After recently announcing a West End extension to February 2025, Mrs Doubtfire has now announced a new London cast!

Based on the much-loved film that starred Robin Williams, Mrs Doubtfire stays very close to the original movie script and features all of the classic lines that fans know and love. Mrs.Doubtfire tells the story of out-of-work actor Daniel who will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce he creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire, in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As his new character begins to take on a personality of its own, Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father.

Gabriel Vick (Avenue Q) is set to continue his role as Daniel Hillard, alongside Laura Tebbutt (School of Rock) as Miranda Hillard, Cameron Blakely (Newsies) as Frank Hillard, Marcus Collins (Kinky Boots) as Andre, and Micha Richardson (Come From Away) as Wanda Sellner.

From Tuesday 14 May joining the cast will be Charlotte Fleming (West End debut) as Lydia Hillard, Matthew Goodgame (Chicago) as Stuart Dunmire, and Ross Dawes (Phantom of the Opera) as Mr. Jolly.

Mrs. Doubtfire also introduces Thommy Bailey Vine, Herbie Byers, and Parker Newman who will alternate the role of Christopher Hillard and Rachelle Bonfield-Bell, Ellemie Shivers, and Felicity Walton who alternate the role of Natalie Hillard.

Completing the cast are Michael Afemaré, Alex Bowen, Nicole Carlisle, Joshua Dever, Joseph Dockree, Autumn Draper, Maria Garrett, Cristina Hoey, Peter Houston, Jodie Knight, Ryan Lay, Adam Lyons, Lisa Mathieson, Ellie Mitchell, Perry O’Dea, Rhys Owen, Bleu Woodward, and Tom Woollaston.

The comedy musical has a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell and original music

Opening Night Closing Next Month

The new musical Opening Night has announced a new closing date in London’s West End. Based on the 1977 film of the same name that was written and directed by John Cassavetes, Opening Night opened at the Gielgud Theatre on 6 March this year. The dazzling new musical is adapted and directed by Ivo Van Hove (A Little Life) with music and lyrics by songwriter Rufus Wainwright.

The show tells the story of an alcoholic stage actress who witnesses the accidental death of one of her super fans. She then begins to be haunted by the ghost of the deceased woman, which leads her to have a nervous breakdown right before the premiere of her next Broadway play.

Opening Night is led by iconic stage and screen star Sheridan Smith as Myrtle Gordon. The rest of the star-studded cast includes Hadley Fraser as Manny Victor, Shira Haas as Nancy Stein, Amy Lennox as Dorothee Victor, Nicola Huges as Sarah Goode, and John Marquez as David Samuels.

The full company is completed by Rebecca Thornhill as Kelly, Cilla Silvia as Carla, Ian McLarnon as Leo, Jos Slovick as Gus, Robert Finlayson, Daniel Forrester, Jennifer Hepburn, Issy Khogali, and Chrissie Perkins.

Matt Henry to Star in The Devil Wears Prada


The highly anticipated new musical The Devil Wears Prada is coming to the West End later this year.
The production will be strutting its way into London’s Dominion Theatre in October.The Devil Wears Prada Musical is based on the 2006 blockbuster film (starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep) and the best-selling novel written by Lauren Weisberger published in 2003. With an original score by music legend Elton John, lyrics by Shania Taub, book by Kate Wetherhead and direction and choreography by the iconic Jerry Mitchell.

The Devil Wears Prada theatre tickets are on sale now. Olivier Award winner Matt Henry is set to join the cast as Nigel, the role created on screen by Stanley
Tucci.

Matt Henry is best known for his performance of Lola in Kinky Boots on the West End. Henry has also performed in other West End musicals including Avenue Q and Saturday Night Fever. Most recently he has starred alongside Beverley Knight in the West End production of The Drifters Girl. He also
competed in the second series of The Voice UK, where he was mentored by both will.i.am and Jessie J. He reached the final, before finishing in fourth place.

He joins Vanessa Williams, who is best known for her iconic TV roles in Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty. Williams is set to play Miranda Priestley, the role made famous by Meryl Streep. The full cast has been announced for the upcoming West End production of Mean Girls the Musical and we think it’s so fetch!  

Mean Girls opens at the Savoy Theatre on 5 June and is currently booking all the way up to 16 February. The smash-hit musical adaptation of the 2004 chick flick is transferring to the West End after a hugely successful run over on Broadway.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button


Based on the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is now a musical and is coming to London!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button tells the story of Benjamin Button who is born as an old man in rather rare circumstances and takes place on the north coast of Cornwall. This musical production is following a sold-out run at the Southwark Playhouse last year, which received glowing reviews all round. The show is brought to life by a group of theatrical production companies including ATG Productions, GBA, Gavin Kalin Productions, Eilene Davidson Productions, and Jethro Compton Productions.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opens at the Ambassador’s Theatre on 10 October 2024. Full cast and creative team are yet to be announced.

Hello, Dolly! Full Cast Announced

The full casting for Hello, Dolly! has been revealed. As we already know the show is set to star Imelda Staunton when it opens in the summer at The London Palladium.

She will be joined by Andy Nyman (Fiddler on the Roof) as Horace Vandergelder, Jenna Russell (Flowers for Mrs Harris) as Irene Molloy, Tyrone Huntley (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Barnaby Tucker and Harry Hepple (Follies) as Cornelius Hackl.

Hello, Dolly! was first produced in 1963 and tells the story of socialite turned matchmaker Doly Levi (Imelda Staunton). We follow Dolly as she travels to Yonkers, New York to find a match for the unmarried half-millionaire Horace Vandergelder (Andy Nyman).

This production follows on from Dominic Cooke’s critically acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies at the National Theatre. With music and lyrics by Jerry Herman (La Cage aux Follies), and book by Michael Stewart (42nd Street), Hello, Dolly! is not to be missed.

The RSC’s award-winning production of Matilda The Musical is still going strong at the Cambridge Theatre. The show has just announced an extension through to December 2024. Based on Roald Dahl’s classic novel, Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary young girl with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind who discovers she has special powers. With original
songs by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly, Matilda is a great night out for all the family.

Matilda first opened in the West End on 24 November 2011 at the Cambridge Theatre and has been playing there ever since. The show won seven Olivier Awards back in 2012, including Best New Musical and Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.

The current London cast stars Victoria Alsina, Sophia Goodman, Laurel Sumberg, and Heidi Williams on rotation as Matilda herself.

The adult company consists of Lauren Byrne as Miss Honey, Rakesh Boury as Mr Wormwood, Elliot Harper as Miss Trunchbull, Landi Oshinowo as Mrs Phelps and Amy Ellen Richardson as Mrs Wormwood. A film adaptation of the musical was released in 2022 starring Emma Thompson and was also a huge success.

Stranger Things: A First Shadow is currently playing at the Phoenix Theatre and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon.

The show, which is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and Netflix has just announced it is extending booking until 14 December 2024.

The brand-new stage adaptation made its world premiere in London last year and has since been a huge success. The show won Best New Play at this year’s WhatsOnStage Awards and has been nominated in five categories at this year’s Olivier Awards.

Based on the hugely popular Netflix TV show and brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, this gripping new adventure will take you right to the beginning of the Stranger Things story… and may hold the secret to the end.

Set in the small town of Hawkins in 1959, Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado wants to graduate and get the hell out of town.

The cast stars Shane Attwooll as Chief Hopper, Isabella Pappas as Joyce Maldonado, and Louis McCartney as Henry Creel, who was nominated for his professional debut at the WhatsOnStage awards.
