On Sunday 14 April, the 2024 Olivier Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted once again by Hannah Waddingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamie Lloyd\u2019s electric revival of Sunset Boulevard<\/strong> equaled the record for the most wins at the ceremony, taking home 7 out of the 11 awards it was nominated for. Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s classic musical not only won the award for Best Musical Revival but many more. Its leads Nicole Scherzinger and Tom Francis took home Best Actor and Actress in a Musical and Jamie Lloyd himself won the award for Best Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunset Boulevard<\/strong> joins 3 other West End shows that also won 7 awards when they opened – Cabaret<\/strong>, Matilda<\/strong>, and Hamilton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Snook took home the award for Best Actress for her one-woman performance of The Picture of Dorian Gray<\/a><\/strong>, currently playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Mark Gattis won the award for Best Actor for his role in The Motive and the Cue<\/strong> at the Noel Coward Theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haydn Gwynne won the award for Best Supporting Actress, 6 months after her passing for her performance in Winston Went to War with the Wireless<\/strong>. Her son Orlando Phillips accepted the award on her behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arlene Phillips finally became an Olivier Award winner at the age of 80 winning Best Theatre Choreographer alongside James Cousins for the Bridge\u2019s production of Guys and Dolls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear England, Operation Mincemeat<\/strong>, and Stranger Things: The First Shadow<\/strong> all took home 2 awards each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
