Mean Girls<\/strong> West End has just announced its closing date. The show, which is currently playing at the Savoy Theatre<\/a> is set to close on 8 June 2025. This is before the musical starts its UK tour in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mean Girls<\/strong> first opened in London on 5 June 2024 so will be coming up to one year when it closes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stage musical is based on the 2004 movie starring Lindsay Lohan that has since become a cult classic. It follows the story of Kady who moves from the African savannah to an even scarier place… high school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The musical is also written by Tina Fey who was the original film’s screenwriter. It is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw. Nicholaw also directed The Book of Mormon<\/em><\/a> which is currently playing at the Prince of Wales Theatre<\/a>. It features music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mean Girls West End cast<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The current West End cast stars Charlie Burn (Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/a><\/em>) as Cady Heron. The Plastics are Georgina Castle (Mamma Mia!<\/a><\/em>) as Regina George, El\u00e8na Gyasi (Six The Musical<\/a><\/em>) as Gretchen Wieners, and Grace Mouat (Legally Blonde<\/em>) as Karen Smith. Alongside them are Elena Skye (Kinky Boots<\/em>) and Tom Xander (The Book of Mormon<\/a><\/em>) star as Janis and Damian. Then Daniel Bravo (Cruel Intentions<\/em>) plays love interest Aaron Samuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cast also includes Lucca Chadwick-Patel as Kevin Ganatra, captain of \u2018The Mathletes\u2019, Ako Mitchell as North Shore Principal Mr Duvall, Zo\u00eb Rainey as Ms Norbury\/Mrs George\/Ms Heron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mean Girls<\/strong> West End company is completed by Tia Antoine-Charles, Georgia Arron, Liam Buckland, Shonah Buwu, Baylie Carson, Freddie Clements, Siobhan Diffin, Cl\u00edona Flynn, Fergie Fraser, Angus Good, Jenny Huxley-Golden, Holly Liburd, Corey Mitchell, Mervin Noronha, Aharon Rayner, Tr\u00e9zel Sergeant, Josh Singleton, Annie Southall, Lillia Squires, Tommy Wade-Smith and Holly Willock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The musical ran for two years on Broadway from April 2018 to March 2020, just before Covid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
