{"id":391,"date":"2023-03-07T11:12:20","date_gmt":"2023-03-07T11:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lsbo.co.uk\/blog\/?p=391"},"modified":"2023-08-09T05:03:56","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T05:03:56","slug":"weekly-west-end-round-up-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lsbo.co.uk\/blog\/2023\/03\/07\/weekly-west-end-round-up-2\/","title":{"rendered":"WEEKLY WEST END ROUND-UP 2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WE WILL ROCK YOU ANNOUNCES <strong>LEAD CASTING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\" id=\"LEAD-CASTING-UK\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"377\" src=\"https:\/\/lsbo.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/154492-1.jpg\" alt=\"LEAD CASTING\" class=\"wp-image-396\" title=\"LEAD CASTING \"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The hit musical based on the iconic music of Queen is returning to London in June 2023 at <strong>The London Coliseum.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show will play a strictly limited run from the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> June to the 27<sup>th<\/sup> August and is set to star Lee Mead as Khashoggi and Brenda Edwards as the Killer Queen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee Mead started his career on the TV show \u2018Any Dream Will Do\u2019 where Andrew Lloyd Webber set out to find someone to play the next Joseph on the West End.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brenda Edwards previously played the role of the Killer Queen in both the UK tour of the production and in the record-breaking run at <strong>the Dominion Theatre.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The popular stage show first opened in the West End in 2002 at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsbo.co.uk\/theatre\/dominion-theatre\">Dominion Theatre<\/a><\/strong> and played for 12 years making it the 11<sup>th<\/sup> <strong>longest-running musical<\/strong> at the time. The musical has firmly remained a fan favourite among theatregoers and this new production is set to rock the house down this summer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further casting is yet to be announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION EXTENDS RUN AND ANNOUNCES NEW CAST<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\" id=\"theatre-casting-london\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/lsbo.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/FINAL_CAST_9_ANNOUNCEMENT.jpg\" alt=\"Theatre Cast\" class=\"wp-image-392\" title=\"theatre casting london\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Agatha Christie\u2019s courtroom drama has announced that it is extending its West End run until the 28<sup>th<\/sup> April 2024. This immersive production is set in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsbo.co.uk\/theatre\/london-county-hall\">London County Hall<\/a> <\/strong>and the audience become the jury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A whole new cast has also been announced for its extension. Harry Giubileo will make his West End debut as Leonard Vole with Madeleine Walker as his wife Romaine. Returning to court are <strong>Jo Stone-Fewings<\/strong> and <strong>Crispin Redman<\/strong> as <strong>Sir Wilfrid Robarts QC<\/strong> and <strong>Mr Mayhew, Terrence Wilton<\/strong> as <strong>Mr Justice Wainwright<\/strong> and <strong>Nick Sampson<\/strong> as <strong>Mr Myers QC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Completing the cast is Bradley Adams, <strong>Nick Morrison Baker, Dafydd Gwyn Howells, Theo Hold-Bailey, Ben Jacobson, Caitlin Kaur, Phoebe Newlan, Godiva Marshall, Tracey Wilkinson, David Shelley and Jo Servi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"West-End\"><strong>OLIVIER AWARD NOMINATIONS ARE OUT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\" id=\"olivier-awards\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/lsbo.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/OK_FEB23_1080x1080_Olivier_Nomonation_1g.jpg\" alt=\"olivier awards\" class=\"wp-image-393\" title=\"olivier awards tickets\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Olivier Award nominations<\/strong> are out and leading the way this year are the likes of \u2018My Neighbour Totoro\u2019 at The Barbican, Standing at The Sky\u2019s Edge at The National and Oklahoma!
