The Nutcracker family musical is opening at the St. Martin’s Theatre<\/a> for the Festive season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The St. Martin’s Theatre<\/a> currently houses the longest running show on the West End<\/a>, The Mousetrap<\/a>. It is sharing the stage throughout the festive period whilst the festive show plays primarily in the mornings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Oliver Award Winning creatives, Little Bulb Theatre are bringing The Nutcracker family musical to the West End<\/a>. Not to be confused with the classic ballet<\/a>, this bold and brilliantly silly tale is told through clever cardboard creations, comic characters and a chorus of cheeky musical mice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It follows two squabbling siblings who receive a mysterious nutcracker from their flamboyant Aunt on Christmas Eve. However, it sets them off on a fantastical journey into \u2018The Mousey Realm\u2019. Can they put their differences aside and stop the evil Mouse King before he ruins Christmas? Only time will tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clare Beresford, Dominic Conway, Lakeisha Lynch-Stevens and Caroline Partridge devised the piece. As well as Alexander Scott, Edith Tankus and Shamira Turner, with direction by Alexander Scott. They are yet to announce the casting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the announcement of The Nutcracker Family show heading to the West End<\/a>, Little Bulb said the folllowing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are beyond excited to bring our madcap, \u201880s action film inspired version of\u00a0The Nutcracker\u00a0to the iconic St Martin\u2019s theatre<\/a> for our West End debut! … But, here\u2019s a twist in the tale\u2026 our version of this Christmas classic is told by the mice! That\u2019s right, a chorus of cheeky mice playing in the home of the world\u2019s most famous Mousetrap! What could possibly go wrong?\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bAlso, the show permits babes in arms under 12 months. This makes it great for young families! Any child over the age of 12 months requires a ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
