SISTER ACT RETURNING TO THE WEST END

Sister Act is returning to the West End in 2024 starring Alexandra Burke and Beverley Knight. The production will open at the Dominion Theatre from Friday 15th March to Saturday 31st August 2024.

Beverley Knight will be reprising her role of Deloris Van Cartier following her sensational performance during the shows’ run in London of Summer 2022. The Olivier Award-winning star will star in shows from the 15th March to the 8th June 2024. Number One best-selling artist Alexandra Burke will then take over the role from the 10th June having previously played a role in the 2016 tour.

The musical is based on the iconic movie and tells the story of the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music. A disco diva’s life changes rapidly when she witnesses a murder and under protective custody is hidden in a convent, disguised as a nun.

THE TIME TRAVELLER’S WIFE THE MUSICAL FURTHER CASTING ANNOUNCED

The Time Traveller’s Wife: The Musical is based on the best-selling novel by Audrey Niffenegger and the New Line Cinema film by Bruce Joel Rubin and is set to open at The Apollo Theatre in October 2022. This run is following a sold-out season of the musical at Storyhouse in Chester in October 2022.

The new British musical is brought to life with original songs from Joss Stone and Dave Stewart, the book is adapted by multi-award-winning playwright Lauren Gunderson and the production will be directed by Bill Buckhurst. The cast will consist of David Hunter as Henry, Joanna Woodward as Clare, Tim Mahendran as Gomez, Hiba Elchikhe as Charisse and Ross Dawes as Henry’s Dad.

The show follows the story of Henry and Clare who have a relationship like no other as they are flung apart by time but united by love.

HER MAJESTY’S THEATRE TO BE RENAMED

Following the coronation of King Charles III on May 6th the West End venue Her Majesty’s Theatre will be changing its name to His Majesty’s Theatre. The theatre which is currently the home to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera is one of six West End theatres owned by Webber.

The Theatre opened back in 1706 as the Queen’s Theatre and the name has always changed historically to match the monarch at the time. Previous productions at the theatre have included Paint Your Wagon, West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof. Phantom of the Opera opened at the theatre in 1986 and is the 3rd longest-running show on the West End after The Mousetrap and Les Misérables.
