Hamnet (Closing 17th February)
Based on the novel by Meggie O’Farrell, Hamnet tells the lesser-known tales of William Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy as well as his greatest love. This highly anticipated stage adaptation comes from Lolita Chakrabiti who previously wrote the stage play for Life of Pi.
Hamnet tickets are on sale now.
Hamnet follows the story of a young William Shakespeare when he first meets Agnes Hathaway (later referred to as Anne Hathaway) who find themselves drawn to each other. They then fall in love, create a life together and make a family. When the plague steals their 11-year-old son Hamnet from them, they are forced to confront their loss alone. Out of this great suffering, something of extraordinary wonder is born.
Hamnet is a love letter to grief, loss, perseverance, family, passion and love. Experience this poignant and beautiful production for yourselves and book Hamnet theatre tickets now.
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s hotly-anticipated new production of Hamnet is now playing at London’s Garrick Theatre for a limited season until 17 February 2024.
The Time Traveller’s Wife (Closing 24th February)
Nominated for 3 WhatsOnStage Awards including Best New Musical, Audrey Niffenegger’s best selling novel has been adapted for the stage by multi-award-winning playwright Lauren Gunderson. With music and lyrics by Grammy Award winners Joss Stone and Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, The Time Traveller’s Wife Musical opened in London late last year.
The Time Traveller’s Wife tickets are available now.
The story is centred around a relationship like no other and follows the story of Clare and Henry, a couple with a very complex journey. It follows them through their love story, which has a strange complication… Henry is a time traveller. While Clare is stuck in the present, Henry could be ripped away at any given moment to a different time and it is unclear for how long for. We watch the couple meet, fall in love and get married but not necessarily in that order. Flung apart by time but united by love, this really is a story that proves that ‘love wins the day’.
The show stars David Hunter (Waitress/ Kinky Boots) as Henry and Joanna Woodward (Pretty Woman/ The Carole King Musical) as Clare. Directed by Bill Buckhurst this story is told through a beautiful musical score and mesmerising special effects.
The Time Traveller’s Wife Musical closes on 24th February at the Apollo Theatre. Book tickets now before they have completely vanished!
