As 2025 fast approaches, the West End is set to dazzle audiences with an impressive lineup of shows. From new musicals to classic revivals, there’s something for everyone in the heart of London’s vibrant theatre district. Here’s a look at the must-see London theatre shows coming up, along with essential details for securing your London theatre tickets!

1. Kyoto
Opens: 9 January 2025
Venue: @sohoplace
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s new production Kyoto is hitting London’s West End early next year.
This pulse-pounding political drama transfers to @sohoplace theatre for a strictly limited London season from 9 January 2025. The new play tells the story of the lead up to the historic signing of the UN’s landmark climate conference in 1997.
The play is brought to life on stage by award-winning directors Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin (Stranger Things: The First Shadow). Alongside writers Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson following their acclaimed collaboration on The Jungle.
Kyoto will play at the @sohoplace Theatre from 9 January 2025 to 3 May 2025.
2. Inside No.9
Opens: 18 January 2025
Venue: Wyndham’s Theatre
Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith bring their BBC series Inside No. 9 to life on stage next year. With familiar characters and stories, the play will also tell a brand-new tale of intrigue. Combining horror and comedy, this play will keep you guessing until the very end.
A theatrical experience like no other, Inside No. 9 will open at the Wyndham’s Theatre from 18 January 2025.
3. Elektra
Opens: 24 January 2025
Venue: Duke of York’s Theatre
Oscar award-winning actor Brie Larson will be making her West End debut in Elektra early next year. Playing the title role she will be working with director Daniel Fish, who recently brought us Oklahoma!
This new translation by Anne Carson brings the Greek tragedy to the stage for the first major revival in over a decade. Sophokles’ timeless play tells the story of Elektra, who is haunted by her father’s assassination.
A story of grief, survival, and vengeance, Elektra will play for a strictly limited season at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Elektra will run from 24 January to 12 April 2025.
4. Much Ado About Nothing
Opens: 10 February 2025
Venue: Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Jamie Lloyd’s new interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy comes to the West End next year. The production is set to star Marvel stars Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Attwell as Benedick and Beatrice.
This savagely funny comedy follows a romantic entanglement like no other. With two of this generation’s finest actors at the helm, Much Ado About Nothing will surely capture and enrich the bard’s witty writing in this iconic play.
Book now to witness this beautifully tender battle of wits. Much Ado About Nothing will play at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 10 February to 5 April 2025.
5. Clueless A New Musical
Opens: 15 February 2025
Venue: Trafalgar Theatre
Based on the 1995 film of the same name, Clueless A New Musical is heading to the West End in February next year.
Featuring original music by singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, the musical will include lyrics by Glenn Slater (Sister Act/ Tangled) and a book by the film’s original screenwriter Amy Heckerling. The show will be directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, who previously directed The Great British Bake-Off Musical. Prior to its West End transfer the new musical had a two-week try-out earlier this year at the Churchill Theatre Bromley.
The musical is a modern take on Jane Austen’s Emma and follows a young high school student who tries to play matchmaker with her fellow classmates.
Clueless A New Musical opens at the Trafalgar Theatre on 15 February 2025 and is booking until 14 June 2025.

6. The Score
Opens: 20 February 2025
Venue: Theatre Royal Haymarket
A new play by Oliver Cotton, The Score, which originally ran at the Theatre Royal Bath is coming to London next year.
Starring legendary stage and screen star Brian Cox (Succession), The Score tells the story of Johann Sebastian Bach. It follows Bach’s visit to Frederick II’s court in 1747 which led to explosive and unforseen events.
Directed by Trevor Nunn, The Score opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 20 February 2025 and will run until 26 April.
7. My Neighbour Totoro
Opens: 8 March 2025
Venue: Gillian Lynne Theatre
The multi-award-winning production of My Neighbour Totoro will be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2025.
Following two sell-out runs at the Barbican and a multitude of five-star reviews, this ground-breaking show is a must-see in the West End next year. With stunning puppetry and brilliant storytelling, My Neighbour Totoro was the winner of six Olivier Awards this year.
The Royal Shakespeare Company and Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi bring the stage production, based on the 1988 animated feature film, to life, with adaptation by Tom Morton-Smith (Oppenheimer).
This coming of age story will transport audiences to a magical fantasy world of childhood and imagination. My Neighbour Totoro will play at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 8 March 2025.
8. The Deep Blue Sea
Opens: 7 May 2025
Venue: Theatre Royal Haymarket
The acclaimed production of The Deep Blue Sea comes to London’s West End for a limited season in Spring 2025.
After a sell-out run at Theatre Royal Bath, Olivier Award winner Lindsay Posner (A View From the Bridge) directs this particular production of Terence Rattigan’s play.
The play is set to star Tamsin Greig (Much Ado About Nothing, Green Wing, Episodes, Friday Night Dinner) and Tony Award nominee Finbar Lynch. This study of obsession and the destructive power of love shows what happens when you’re stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.
The Deep Blue Sea runs from 7 May 2025 until 21 June 2025 at the Theatre Royal Haymarket London.
9. Just For One Day.
Opens: 15 May 2025
Venue: Shaftesbury Theatre
40 years on since music united the world, here comes Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical.
This production follows the show’s world premiere at the Old Vic earlier this year, which became the fastest-selling musical ever.
This exhilarating new musical includes hit songs from the likes of David Bowie, Madonna, The Police, Elton John, Diana Ross, U2, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney. These were the iconic artists who made history by performing at simultaneous charitable concerts in London and Philadelphia.
Live Aid was a global music event that brought 1.5 billion people together. This new musical is written by John O’Farrell (Mrs. Doubtfire, Something Rotten!) and directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, The Little Big Things).
The organisers will donate 10% of the sale of all tickets directly to The Band-Aid Charitable Trust. Just For One Day opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre on 15 May 2025. It takes over from the theatre’s current production Mrs Doubtfire which will close on 26 April 2025.
10. Hercules
Opens: 6 June 2025
Venue: Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Disney’s Hercules is coming to the stage for the first time ever next summer. The musical will open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 6 June 2025.
The musical has music by 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Zeppel. Hercules features a brand-new book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn. The show is set to be directed and choreographed by Tony-winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Mean Girls). The show will be co-choreographed by Tanisha Scott.
Hercules is based on Disney’s 1997 animated film of the same name. It follows the story of the Greek hero as he battles to claim his birthright against the villainous Hermes. The film includes iconic Disney hits such as ‘Zero to Hero’, ‘Go The Distance’ and ‘I Won’t Say (I’m In Love)’.
Opening at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 6 June and booking until 10 January 2026, Hercules tickets will go on sale too.
