Images of Joe Locke rehearsing for Clarkston have been released! The images show the Netflix star, known for his work on Heartstopper rehearsing in full swing.

Clarkston opens at The Trafalgar Theatre on 17th September 2025. The show is playing for a limited run until 22nd November. Joe Locke plays Jake who is the central character of this new play. Set in America, the story follows Jake as he travels west in search of meaning. Whilst on this quest, he meets Chris – a kindred soul hiding in a night shift at a Costco in a rural American town. Together, they begin to imagine a new future. As their relationship grows and their bond deepens, so does their sense of adventure. Maybe they could finally give life new meaning by chasing something more – like the intrepid explorers Lewis and Clark before them.

This production marks Joe Lockes West End Debut. Ruaridh Mollica and Sophie Melville are also starring in this show and complete the cast. Samuel D.Hunter, who also wrote the award winning film The Whale is the writer of this new play. The play is making it’s UK premier and is directed by Drama Desk Award winner Jack Serio.

Clarkston‘s wider creative team includes set and costume designer Milla Clarke, lighting designer Stacey Derosier, sound designer George Dennis, casting director Stuart Burt, and dramaturg John Baker.
