The Comedy About Spies
The Adelphi Theatre

This brilliant comedy play kicked off on the 1st of this month. The Comedy About Spies is the latest from the writers of The Play That Goes Wrong. Previously, the show ran at The Noel Coward Theatre and is returning to the Adelphi this summer with well deserved awards under its belt. When a rogue British agent pilfers plans for a top-secret weapon, CIA and KGB spies converge on London’s Piccadilly Hotel in pursuit of the elusive file. ‘Abandon yourself to the madness’(The Times) and join a clueless young couple, a hapless actor angling for an exciting spy movie role, and enough double agents to confuse even the sharpest operative, in a mission that’s hilariously out of control.

Death Note The Musical
The Barbican

This new musical recently opened at The Barbican and is based on the wildly successful Manga series of the same name. With over 30 million copies sold worldwide, the legendary series features an electrifying score by Tony, Grammy and Emmy nominee Frank Wildhorn. The story follows a brilliant student. However, he discovers a notebook with the power over life and death. His quest to reshape the world sparks a relentless battle of wits with the elusive detective L, where every name carries consequences.

Now You See Me Live
London Coliseum

Another show which recently opened in August is the Magic Show Now You See Me Live at the London Coliseum. Based on the Blockbuster movie franchise, this magic show brings together some of the worlds best magicians onto one stage. They bring magic to life with an explosive mix of high-tech illusions, solo stunts and jaw-dropping spectacles.
For a strictly limited five-week summer season at the iconic London Coliseum, Enzo Weyne, Andrew Basso, Gabriella Lester & Matthew Pomeroy unite as The Horsemen thus transforming the magic of the films into a live stage spectacle with never-before-seen feats of wonder.

Paranormal Activity
The Ambassador’s Theatre

Paranormal Activity is back! The show originally opened last year and was scheduled for a limited run. It was so popular however that it extended twice through until they really had to close due to the theatres scheduling. Despite these extensions audiences still can’t get enough and so it is opening again on 11th August! It is inspired by the iconic, terrifying film series, Paranormal Activity brings the frightful story live on stage. This rendition of the story sees James and Lou move from Chicago to London to escape their past, but they soon discover that places aren’t haunted, people are.

Heathers
The Arts at Marble Arc

Heathers is closing soon at the new Arts Theatre at Marble Arch. This musical is a modern cult classic amongst the musical theatre scene. It is based on a novel and film which follows students and a cutthroat high school. When newbie Veronica Sawyer enrols there, she is unexpectedly taken under the wings of the three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers. Finally, Veronicas dreams of popularity may come true! That is until J.D., the mysterious teen rebel, teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but it’s murder being a somebody.
Tickets are available for Heathers in London here. The show is playing until 22nd August at The Arts at Marble Arch.

Some of the most popular London Shows in August 2026 are, Lion King, Wicked, Oliver and The Hunger Games: On Stage. You can book fantastic discounted tickets for all of these in person on online apart from The Lion King which is full price. These shows are all so popular as they are great for families. However, The Hunger Games: On Stage is better for families with older children. As it is based on the hit YA novels and film franchise it is recommended for 12+ with parental guidance.
