The hit play by Ava Pickett has just started performances at the Ambassador’s theatre in the West End. The play is scheduled to play from 2nd of May to 1st August and here’s a first look at the 1536 production images.

The West End run of 1536 has started and if you were curious about this production we hope these photos by Helen Murray convince you to go! The play is directed by Lyndsey Turner and is set during Tudor England. We follow three women in Essex whose lives are disrupted by the rumours from Henry VII’s court. Specificallty regarding the fall of the queen Anne Boleyn.

The play had it’s premiere at the Almeida Theatre last year and was a true hot ticket after selling out it’s entire run. The show was also received very positively. And was subsequently nominated for Best New Play and Best Director at the Olivier Awards. The play stars Siena Kelly, Tanya Reynolds and Liv Hill who are all reprising their roles from the Almeida. They play Anna, Mariella and Jane respectively. Oliver Johnstone plays Richard and George Kemp plays William. The company is completed by Harry Bradley (Richard, William understudy). Saroja-Lily Ratnavel (Jane and Mariella understudy) and Sydney Spencil (Anna understudy).
