ELF THE MUSICAL RETURNS TO THE WEST END
After it’s extremely popular run last Christmas ELF THE MUSICAL returns to the West End for a second year in a row! Playing for a strictly limited season from the 15th of November 2023 until the 6th of January 2024 at The Dominion Theatre. 7 years after its last West End run, the show’s 2022 run was a sold-out success and proved the production’s popularity so there’s no wonder it’s back again.
The musical is based on the 2023 New Line Cinema film that starred Will Ferrell and featured a book by Tony Award Winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin with songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Skylar and Chad Beguelin. The show follows the story of Buddy who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts when he’s a baby and is transported to the North Pole where he is raised as an elf. Unaware of the fact that he is actually a human, Buddy’s heigh and poor toy-making skills finally brings him to face the truth. Buddy then embarks on a journey to New York to find his birth father, learn about his true identity and discover the true meaning of Christmas.
The 2023 cast is yet to be announced but the production will be once again directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, original set and costume design by Tim Goodchild, choreography by Liam Steel, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen and video design by Ian William Galloway.
