Your Lie in April

The musical Your Lie in April has announced a West End transfer this Summer. This is following on from its record-breaking sell-out concert at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in April this year.

Your Lie in April is one of the most popular romantic and poignant tales in Japanese manga. The musical adaptation follows the story of a young piano player who is unable to perform after the death of his mother. Everything changes when he strikes up a friendship with a talented violinist who slowly encourages him to perform again.

The manga was published in 2011 and since then has sold over 7.5 million copies and was adapted into an anime TV series in 2014 and a Japanese live-action film in 2016.

The stage adaptation of Your Lie in April includes music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, Bonnie & Clyde, Death Note). With lyrics by Carly Robyn Green and Tracy Miller, an English book by Rinne B Groff, and an original book by Riko Sakaguchi.

Due to phenomenal demand, a fully staged production of Your Lie in April will run for 12 weeks at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The musical will run from 28 June until 21 September. Further casting and creatives are yet to be announced.
