We’re almost halfway through 2024… can you believe it! Take a look at all these new shows hitting the West End this June.
Kiss Me Kate (Opens 4 June)
Kiss Me, Kate follows the onstage and off-stage antics of a theatre company attempting to put on a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. In a world of backstage chaos and romantic entanglement, Cole Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate is a musical comedy, mixed with Shakespeare and a sprinkle of Noises Off.
This new production of the musical is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher (The King and I/ South Pacific) and features a company of over 50 including a full-scale orchestra.
Kiss Me, Kate is set to run from 4 June and will run until 14 September at the Barbican.
Mean Girls (Opens 5 June)
Get in losers we’re heading to London! The smash-hit musical adaptation of the 2004 chick flick is transferring to the West End after a hugely successful run over on Broadway.
When home-schooled Cady is plunged into the relocates from the African savanna to a dangerous place called high school, she finds herself a part of the clique known as ‘The Plastics’. You won’t want to miss this theatrical event of the summer; we know it is going to be ‘So Fetch!’

Boys From The Blacksuff (Opens 13 June)
Based on Alan Bleasedale’s ground-breaking TV series 40 years later, Boys From The Blackstuff comes to the West End this June.
Set in 80s Liverpool Chrissie, Loggo, George, Dixie and Yosser are used to hard work and providing for their families. But there is no work and there is no money. What are they supposed to do? Work harder, work longer, buy cheaper, spend less? They just need a chance.
James Graham’s powerful new adaptation is coming to the Garrick Theatre direct from the National Theatre for 8 weeks only.Boys From The Blackstuff will play from 13 June to 3 August at the Garrick Theatre.
Next to Normal (Opens 18 June)
The critically acclaimed musical Next to Normal made its long-awaited UK premiere last year at the Donmar Warehouse and the musical transfers to the West End next month.
The musical explored themes of family, illness, loss and grief following the story of a suburban wife and mother living with bipolar disorder. The powerful rock musical is full of beautiful songs that are sure to tug at your heartstrings.
Next to Normal will run for a Strictly limited 14-week season at the Wyndham’s Theatre. Book Next to Normal tickets now, playing from 18 June to 21 September.
Your Lie in April (Opens 28 June)
Following its record breaking sell-out concert at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in April earlier this year Your Lie in April is transferring to the West End next month.
Known as one of the most popular romantic and poignant tales in Japanese manga, Your Lie in April follows the story of a young piano player who is unable to perform after the death of his mother. Everything changes when he strikes up a friendship with a talented violinist who slowly encourages him to perform again.
Your Lie in April will run from 28 June until 21 September at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Book tickets now and don’t miss out on this strictly limited, high in demand 12-week run.
Slave Play (Opens 29 June)
Slave Play is the most Tony nominated play of all time and now it’s coming to the West End.
Hailed as ‘the single most daring thing in theatre’ by The New York Times, Slave Play is iconic, controversial and ground-breaking.
Starring Game of Throne’s Kit Harrington alongside Fisayo Akinade, James Cusati-Moyer, Aaron Heffernan, Chalia La Tour, Annie McNamara, Irene Sofia Lucio and Olivia Washington.
Jeremy O.Harris’s extraordinary play about race, identity and sexuality in twenty-first century America opens at the Noel Coward on 29 June until 21 September. Slave Play will run for a strictly limited season.
