Disney has announced lead casting for the new production of Hercules that is heading to London next year. The show is opening at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Summer 2025.

Hercules will be played by Luke Brady. Luke’s theatre credits include SuperYou at the Lyric Theatre and As You Like It for the RSC. He also starred in the world premiere of The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre in 2021. Further casting is yet to be announced.

The production has also announced official opening dates. The show will run from 6 June 2025 and is currently booking until 10 January 2026.

With music written by 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Zeppel, Hercules features a brand-new book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn. The show is set to be directed and choreographed by Tony-winner Casey Nicholaw. Nicholaw’s previous work includes The Book of Mormon and Mean Girls. The show will be co-choreographed by Tanisha Scott.

Hercules is based on Disney’s 1997 animated film of the same name. It follows the story of the Greek hero as he battles to claim his birthright against the villainous Hermes. The film includes iconic Disney hits such as ‘Zero to Hero’, ‘Go The Distance’ and ‘I Won’t Say (I’m In Love)’.

Disney’s other show in London right now is The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in the West End last month.

The Lion King tickets are available now.
