Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York) (Closes 31 August)


The new British musical first premiered at the Kiln Theatre last year and then transferred to the West End in April. Described as one part ‘rom’ and two parts ‘com’, the musical has been a huge success and even extended halfway through the run.

Two Strangers follows the story of the naive but optimistic Dougal who has travelled from England to New York for his dad’s second wedding. He’s met at the airport by the sister of the bride, Robin who introduces him to the bright lights of New York City.

The Wizard of Oz (Closes 8 September)

The Wizard will see you now! Following a smash-hit season at The London Palladium in 2023 and a record-breaking UK and Ireland tour, The Wizard of Oz returned to the West End this month.

The spectacular production is only in London for a limited run and stars Aston Merrygold from JLS as The Tin Man and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne as The Wicked Witch of the West. The musical features all the unforgettable songs from the Oscar-winning film as well as additional songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

We are so sad to ‘Let It Go’ but we must say goodbye to Disney’s Frozen next month. The musical has been playing at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane since Summer 2021 but it is set to close its doors this September.

Adapted from the Oscar-winning animated Disney film, Frozen has certainly taken the West End by storm (pun fully intended). The musical follows the story of Queen Elsa who can no longer control her special powers and plunges the land of Arendelle into an eternal winter. Can her sister Anna save the kingdom before it’s too late?

Hello, Dolly! (Closes 14 September)

The West End said ‘Hello’ to Dolly in July when the iconic musical opened at the London Palladium. Starring the legend that is Imelda Staunton, Hello, Dolly! proves that the old girl’s still got it. The musical tells the story of socialite turned matchmaker Dolly Levi as she tries to find a match for an unmarried half-millionaire.

Directed by Dominic Cooke, this production follows on from his critically acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies at the National. With music and lyrics by Jerry Herman (La Cage aux Follies), and a book by Michael Stewart (42nd Street), Hello, Dolly! is a delight for all.

Kathy and Stella Solve A Murder! (Closes 14 September)

Written by Matthew Floyd Jones and Jon Brittain, Kathy & Stella is a murder mystery musical that follows two true crime podcasters who find themselves in the middle of an actual whodunnit when their favourite author is murdered.

The show first arrived in the West End in May and has been a huge hit with audiences and critics alike.
