Moulin Rouge!
The Piccadilly Theatre
Moulin Rouge! Is simply THE most romantic show on the West End. As soon as you step into the venue, it gives date night vibes. The theatre is literally transformed into the Moulin Rouge in Paris. The story begins with the yearning of a penniless artist for the beautiful diamond of the show, Satine. This sweeping romance follows their love story which must be kept a secret. This is all the soundtrack of iconic pop songs, incredible dancing and a spectacular set!
Back To The Future
The Adelphi Theatre
Back to the Future is heading to the end of its run in the West End before heading on tour. This show is based on the hot 80s movie of he same name. When Marty McFly finds himself stuck in the 50s, its down to him to ensure his parents fall in love. Otherwise, he risks his entire existence! This light-hearted and fun show has brilliant special effects which makes it great for a date night. The nostalgic songs feature in the show alongside original written songs.
Hadestown
The Lyric Theatre
This is multi award winning show is a modern retelling of two classic ancient Greek romances. The tales of Orpheus and Eurydice alongside that of Hades and Persephone. This tragic romance has a hauntingly beautiful score and this epic romance is literally thousands of years old yet still moves audiences to this day. We have exclusive seats for every performance which are exclusively available in person.
Phantom of the Opera
His Majesty’s Theatre
The Phantom of the Opera is about unrequited love and is another timeless love story. The songs and story line is extremely romantic. It is also the second longest running musical in the West End. This is a classic and great choice for your theatre date night this Valentines.
Mamma Mia!
The Novello Theatre
Mamma Mia is a feel good fun musical set to the back drop of a wedding in Greece! Maybe you’re taking a break from your own wedding this valentines? I’m sure any planning you have going on isn’t as stressful as this one! Sophie invites to her wedding 3 men who are all potentially her father for her big day. This causes chaos, fun and flirting for everyone invited! All with a soundtrack to some of ABBAs greatest hit, you can’t go wrong with this one!
Disney’s Hercules
Theatre Royal Drury Lane
This new Disney musical only features the romance as a side plot. But oh my is it a good side plot. The romance in the story is between Hercules and Meg just like in the animated film. It has the classic tropes such as Grumpy x Sunshine and my personal favourite, he falls first. Hercules is also great as the muses provide a sassy and powerful soundtrack which is just incredible!
The Lion King
The Lyceum Theatre
Another Disney show which features a gentle side plot of romance. The romance between Simba and Nala as they enter young adulthood and Simba tries to win back his rightful place as the king of the pridelands. This musical of course, features the classic Elton John love song, “Can you feel the love tonight”. Alongside to awe-inspiring puppetry that brings the show to life, this musical is sure to impress your date this Valentine’s.
Valentine’s Day Theatre – Romantic Plays:

High Noon
The Harold Pinter Theatre
Although this play is primarily a thriller, its follows the central love story and connection between two characters. Set at their wedding, they discover a deadly outlaw is due to return to their close knit community on the high noon train. What makes this play extra interesting, is that the events unfold in real time, building the suspense in this play adapted by the writer of Forrest Gump!
Shadowlands
The Aldwych Theatre
This play stars Hugh Bonneville and is based on a true story. Bonneville stars as C.S. Lewis alongside acclaimed actor Maggie Siff (Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, Billions) as the spirited American poet Joy Davidman whose unexpected love transforms the orderly academic life of C.S Lewis – the celebrated author of The Chronicles of Narnia. What begins as a meeting of minds becomes an uplifting and powerful journey of love and the fragile beauty of life.
Valentine’s Day Theatre – More Like Galentine’s Day:

Magic Mike Live
The Hippodrome Casino
Need I say more?
Six the Musical
The Vaudeville Theatre
Celebrate girl power and your female friendship this galentine’s. From humble beginnings at the Edinburgh fringe festival, this show has been going strong in the West End for 7 years now. The show empowers all women but especially those who become merely a nursey rhyme as school children learnt about the “Great” Tudor King, Henry VIII. All of the Queens who finally get to tell their story are also based on iconic Pop Superstars. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Arianna Grande, Beyonce and Adele to name a few.
Mamma Mia!
The Novello Theatre
Although Mamma Mia hit’s all the right boxes for date nights, it’s also a celebration of girl power and female relationships! From the mature friendships with Donna and the Dynamos, to Sophie and her young bridal party you can’t help but resonate with these dynamics. My personal favourite is the relationship between mother and daughter in this show. Have the tissues ready for ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ as they prep for her wedding day.
That’s all for now! We’re wishing you all a happy Valentine’s however you choose to celebrate! For more of the latest theatre news click here.
