Based on the 2006 Blockbuster film that starred Meryl Steep and Anne Hathaway, and the best-selling novel by Laren Weisberger, The Devil Wears Prada Musical is strutting into the West End this Autumn. With an original score by Elton John, lyrics by Shania Taub, book by Kate Wetherhead, and direction and choreography by the incredible Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots).
As already revealed the legend that is Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty) is set to star as Miranda Priestly, the role orignally played by Meryl Streep. She will be joined by stage sensation Matt Henry (Kinky Boots) who will play Nigel , the role originated in the film by Stanley Tucci. Joining them will be Georgie Buckland (Shrek the Musical) as Andy and Amy Di Bartolomeo (Six) as Emily. The characters originally portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt. The cast also includes them James Darch (Mamma Mia!) as journalist Christian, Rhys Whitfield (The Phantom of the Opera) as Andy’s boyfriend, Nate and for the London run this autumn, Debbie Kurup will join the production as the standby Miranda Priestly.

One of the greatest American plays of the 20th century, Long Days Journey Into Night by Eugene O’Neill opened in London in March earlier this year.
The play stars Emmy and Golden Globe winning actors Brian Cox and Patricia Clarkson who make their return to the West End. They are joined by Anthony Boyle, Daryl McCormack and Louisa Harland.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play follows the story of the Tyrone family one summer say and is based on the writer’s own dysfunctional family. Directed by Jeremy Herrin (Best of Enemies), this interpretation is currently playing at the Wyndham’s Theatre. Book tickets now before the show closes on 8 June.

Following the success of The Ferryman, Jez Butterworth and Sam Mendes reunite for The Hills of California.
Set in 1970s Blackpool, the Webb sisters return to their childhood home in Blackpool to visit their dying mother. Starring Laura Donnelly (The Ferryman), Leanne Best (Sweat), Ophelia Lovibond (The Libertine) and Helena Wilson (Jack Absolute Flies Again).
The Hills of California opened back in January this year and is now playing at the Harold Theatre. Book tickets now before the show closes on 15 June.
Player Kings (Closes 22 June)
Adapted by Robert Icke and based on the Shakespeare classic Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, Player Kings opened at the beginning of April.
This new play brings together two of Shakespeare’s iconic historical plays and tells the story of Henry IV turbulent reign. Directed by Icke himself and starring the legendary Ian McKellen as John Flastaff.
Player Kings is currently playing at the Noel Coward Theatre, following on from previews at the New Wimbledon Theatre and Manchester Opera House. The reign must end on 22 June, book tickets now!
Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap is not only the longest running show in the West End but also the longest running play in the world. For over 70 years it has kept millions of people from every corner of the globe on the edge of their seats. London’s greatest ‘Whodunnit’ has just welcomed a brand new cast to the St Martins Theatre.

This production has also welcomed a new director, Philip Franks whose previous West End credits include The Duchess of Malfi, Taking Sides, Collaboration, and Dear Lupin. He is also an actor and is soon to be seen in Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre. Denise Silvey continues in the role of artistic director, while Adam Spiegel continues as producer.

On Sunday 14 April, the 2024 Olivier Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted once again by Hannah Waddingham.
Jamie Lloyd’s electric revival of Sunset Boulevard equaled the record for the most wins at the ceremony, taking home 7 out of the 11 awards it was nominated for. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical not only won the award for Best Musical Revival but many more. Its leads Nicole Scherzinger and Tom Francis took home Best Actor and Actress in a Musical and Jamie Lloyd himself won the award for Best Director.
Sunset Boulevard joins 3 other West End shows that also won 7 awards when they opened – Cabaret, Matilda, and Hamilton.
Sarah Snook took home the award for Best Actress for her one-woman performance of The Picture of Dorian Gray, currently playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Mark Gattis won the award for Best Actor for his role in The Motive and the Cue at the Noel Coward Theatre.
Haydn Gwynne won the award for Best Supporting Actress, 6 months after her passing for her performance in Winston Went to War with the Wireless. Her son Orlando Phillips accepted the award on her behalf.
Arlene Phillips finally became an Olivier Award winner at the age of 80 winning Best Theatre Choreographer alongside James Cousins for the Bridge’s production of Guys and Dolls.

The Barbican’s revival of Kiss Me, Kate is set to open on 4th June and will run until 14th September.

The Choir of Man New Cast Announced
Some new faces are set to join the gang at the best pub in the world! The Choir of Man has announced some new cast members that will join the show until 29th September 2024.
Joining the choir of men are Sam Ebenezer (The Mousetrap/ previous ensemble member) as The Poet, Sam Pope (Bat Out of Hell) as The Joker, and Olugbenga Adelekan (West End debut) as The Pub Bore.

MY FAIR LADY The Lincoln Center Theater’s critically acclaimed, multi award-winning production of MY FAIR LADY comes to London in Summer 2022, the first major revival of Lerner & Loewes much loved musical for 21 years. THE GLASS MENAGERIE ‘Memory is seated predominantly in the heart’ – Tennessee Williams
Six-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams is set to make her West End debut in THE GLASS MENAGERIE at The Duke of York’s theatre for a strictly limited season from 23 May 2022.
Known as the ‘memory play’ THE GLASS MENAGERIE premiered in 1944 and catapulted Williams from obscurity to fame. The play has strong autobiographical elements, featuring characters based on its author, his histrionic mother, and his mentally fragile sister. The play is told through the eyes of Tom (Tom Glynn-Carney – The Ferryman, Dunkirk) who tells the story of his emotionally vulnerable daughter, Laura (Lizzie Annis in her stage debut) and his obsessive mother Amanda Wingfield (Amy Adams).
Amanda is devastated by her husband’s abandonment and her attentions change to focus on the future security of her children. Years later, through the fractured prism of memory, Tom relives and reflects on the pressure that was placed on his sister to find a suitor and his own pursuit of freedom.
THE GLASS MENAGERIE would ultimately become one of Williams’ greatest works, with future plays including Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and A Streetcar Named Desire. This ambitious reimagining of the classic play is set to encapsulate audiences from May 2022.

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
Harper Lee’s story of racial injustice has sold 45 million copies worldwide, with 2020 marking the 60th anniversary of its publication. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is adapted by Aaron Sorkin, but based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer-winning novel. The play tells the story of young Scout and her father Atticus Finch, a lawyer tasked with defending a local, Tom Robinson, who is accused of rape. The novel explores justice and racial tension in a small Southern town, and is one of the best-selling novels of all-time.
This new adaptation will be directed by Bartlett Sher, stars Rafe Spall as Atticus Finch will open at the Gielgud Theatre in March 2022.
