The wickedly funny Heathers The Musical is based on the 1988 cult hit and the musical has gathered just as much of a cult following.

Welcome to Westerberg High, where young Veronica Sawyer wants nothing more than to move on from high school until the Heathers turn her dreams of popularity into reality. This is until the mysterious JD turns up and teaches her that it might kill to be a nobody, but its murder being somebody.

THE WIZARD OF OZ (Closing 3rd September)

THE CROWN JEWELS – Closing 16th September

After his success as a writer on Spitting Image: Idiot’s Assemble, Al Murray is now making his West End debut in THE CROWN JEWELS. He is joined by Carrie Hope Fletcher, Mel Giedroyc, Neil Morrissey, and Joe Thomas for this historical heist.

The comedy follows Colonel Blood as he and his group of misfits attempt to steal King Charles II’s crown jewels in plain sight.

2:22 A GHOST STORY – Closing 17th September

The award-winning supernatural thriller 2:22 A GHOST STORY has been playing to sold-out audiences in London since 2021 but the production will celebrate its final performance on 17th September this year. 

Currently starring Frankie Bridge, Ricky Champ, Clifford Samuel and Jaime Winstone, this critically acclaimed play has become a must see show in London. This run at the Apollo Theatre is following four record-breaking seasons at the Noel Coward Theatre, the Gielgud, the Criterion and the Lyric.

The play tells the story of Jenny who believes that her new home is haunted but her husband Sam doesn’t agree. When they have their friends Lauren and Ben over for dinner belief and scepticism clash as they argue the topic of ghosts. So, they are going to stay up until 2:22 and then they’ll know.

Written by Danny Robins, the creator of the hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist and directed by Matthew Dunster, this both comedic and intriguing horror play is not one to be missed.

The complete cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s SUNSET BOULEVARD has been announced. We previously found out that the production would star pop sensation Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond and will open in September at the Savoy Theatre.

It has now been announced that Rachel Tucker who has previously starred as Elphaba in WICKED and Beverly Bass in COME FROM AWAY will be guest starring as Norma Desmond for all Monday performances from the 16th of October and other selected performances.

Joining them will be Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett Young as Betty Schaefer and David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling.

SUNSET BOULEVARD is a musical that follows the story of film star Norma Desmond and struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis in 1950s Hollywood. The show is a timely production that explores the darker side of show business and the obsession with fame.

Based on the film by Billy Wilder with book and music by Don Black and Christopher Hampton.

Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of Boubil and Schönberg’s LES MISERABLES has announced new cast members for the West End production.

Joining the company from 25th September 2023 will be impressionist and comedian Luke Kempner and Thérnardier, Katie Hall (Fantine in the UK and Ireland tour) as Fantine, Djavan van de Fliert (Frozen) as Enjolras, Will Callan as Marius and Amena El-Kindy as Eponine.

They are set to join continuing principal cast members Josh Piterman (as Jean Valjean), Stewart Clarke (as Javert), Claire Machin (as Madame Thénardier) and Lulu-Mae Pears (as Cosette).

New theatre shows

VANYA -Opens 15th September 2022


This Autumn Andrew Scott, star of Fleabag, Sherlock and His Dark Materials, is returning to the West End to star in Simon Stephen’s new adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Uncle VANYA. Scott is set to play every character in this reimagined one man staging of Chekhov’s iconic masterpiece.

The production is Stephen’s third adaptation of a Chekhov play after previously working on The Cherry Orchard in 2014 and The Seagull in 2017.

The play will open at the Duke of York’s Theatre for a strictly limited 5-week run from the 15th of September to the 21st of October 2023. Vanya Tickets will go on sale soon so keep an eye out!

SUNSET BOULEVARD-Opens 18th September 2023

Worldwide superstar and pop sensation Nicole Scherzinger is set to star in a new production of SUNSET BOULEVARD. The classic musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber is based on the film by Billy Wilder with book and music by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. Opening this September, this new interpretation directed by Jamie Lloyd is set to wow audiences’ night after night.

Featuring all the classic songs from the iconic score including ‘With One Look’, ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’, ‘The Perfect Year’ and of course the title song. This production will mark the first production presented by Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, the new joint venture by Andrew Lloyd Webber himself and Michael Harrison.

NOISES OFF -Opens 27th September 2023

After its hugely successful run in the West End earlier this year, Michael Frayn’s celebrated play NOISES OFF returns to London with an all-star cast.

The comedy play serves up a riotous double bill of a play within a play and follows the on and off-stage antics of a touring theatre company as they put on a fictional farce aptly named ‘Nothing On’.

This production is set to star Felicity Kendal, Jonathan Coy, Alexander Hanson, Gavin & Stacey’s Matthew Horne and Eastender’s star Tamzin Outhwaite.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic Love Never Dies returns to the West End this summer in a star-studded concert at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

A LITTLE LIFE

The much-anticipated play A LITTLE LIFE opened at the Harold Pinter in March this year and then transferred to the Savoy Theatre in July due to the unprecedented demand for tickets. The play has been a huge success, playing to sold-out audiences every night.

The stage adaptation of Hanya Yanagihara’s award-winning novel follows the story of four college friends in New York City. Aspiring actor Willem (Luke Thompson), successful architect Malcolm (Zach Wyatt), struggling artist JB (Omari Douglas) and prodigious lawyer Jude (James Norton). It explores a story of friendship and addiction as the four friends find themselves bound by their love for Jude and the mysteries of his past. A LITTLE LIFE is a beautifully introspective look into the complexities of trauma and how it affects us to the very core.

Defying Gravity – Wicked

‘Defying Gravity’ marks the climax of Act 1 of the show and is known as the signature song of the musical. The song was composed by Stephen Schwartz and originally recorded by Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth in 2003. It is mainly a solo sung by Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West) with 2 small duets with Glinda.

The song appears as the finale to Act 1 when Elphaba discovers that The Wizard of Oz is not the hero she believed him to be and she vows to do everything in her power to fight the Wizard and his sinister plans against the animals of Oz. In the show Elphaba is lifted into the air during the song using a hydraulic launch system surrounded by moving lights, smoke and wind effects to give the impression that she is flying.

One Day More – Les Misérables

‘One Day More’ was written by Claude-Michel Schonberg, the writer of the musical, original French lyrics by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer.  The song is sung by the entire chorus at the end of Act 1.

The Music of the Night – The Phantom of the opera

‘The Music of the Night’ is a major song from The Phantom of the Opera, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. The song was originally made famous by Michael Crawford who originated the role of the Phantom in both the West End and on Broadway.

The song is performed after the Phantom lures Christine into his lair beneath the Opera House and his voice puts her into some kind of trance. He sings of his unspoken love for her and urges her to forget the world she knew before him.

Alexander Hamilton – Hamilton

‘Alexander Hamilton’ is the opening number of the 2015 hit musical Hamilton, written by Lin Manuel Miranda. He wrote both the music and lyrics to the song and it is alternately rapped and sun is exposition. The song sets up who Alexander Hamilton is and summarises the first 2 decades of his life before the show begins. It also introduces the other lead and supporting characters in the show and also tells you a little of what’s to come.

Let it Go – Frozen

Frozen the musicals

‘Let it Go’ was originally written for the 2013 Disney animated feature film Frozen and the music and lyrics were composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The song was originally performed by Idina Menzel who played Elsa in the film.

The song reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was the ninth best-selling song of 2014 in the US with 3.37 million copies sold that year. It also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 2014 Oscars.

The song presents Queen Elsa when she flees the kingdom after she loses control of her powers. She then realises that she no longer needs to hide her abilities and celebrates her new found freedom by creating a living snowman and an ice castle.

This is a pivotal moment in the show and there is no wonder why this song is a fan favourite.

The Enfield Haunting Opens on 30th November 2023

The Enfield Haunting

Based on the true story and first-hand accounts of one of the ghost hunters, THE ENFIELD HAUNTING tells the story of a single mother trying to protect her three children from some disturbing happenings.

The Hodgson family who lived in a north London council house became the centre of one of the most famous poltergeist events in the world during the summer of 1977.

The play is set to star comedy icon Catherine Tate (Dr Who/ The Catherine Tate Show) and film and television actor David Threlfall (Shameless). This is the world premiere of this major new play written by Paul Unwin (Co-creator of the world’s longest-running medical drama Casualty)

THE MOTIVE AND THE CUE Opens 9th December 2023

The Motive and the cue

Following its highly acclaimed, sold-out run at the National Theatre, THE MOTIVE AND THE CUE is transferring to the West End later this year.

Directed by Academy Award, Tony Award and Golden Globe winner Sam Mended (The Lehman Trilogy) and based on the making of Richard Burton and John Gielgud’s ‘Hamlet’ on Broadway, this play was celebrated as a ‘love letter to theatre’ by the Evening Standard.

Written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) this fierce and funny play offers a glimpse into the politics of a rehearsal room and the relationship between art and the celebrity.

The play tells the story of Richard Burton, newly married to Elizabeth Taylor and playing the title role in a new production of Hamlet directed by John Gielgud. But during the rehearsal process two ages of heater collide and the collaboration between actor and director soon threatens to unravel.

Starring Johnny Flynn as Burton, Mark Gatiss as Gielgud, and Tuppence Middleton as Taylor.

The Unfriend

A person, often met on holiday, who doesn’t understand that “let’s keep in touch” means “goodbye.” Sometimes a murderer.

After its smash-hit run at the Criterion Theatre earlier this year THE UNFRIEND returns to the West End later this year. The show will run for a strictly limited period at Wyndham’s Theatre from the 16th December.

This time starring comedy legend Lee Mack (Not Going Out/ Would I Lie to You) and Sarah Alexander (Coupling/ Smack the Pony) who will join Frances Barber (Silk/ Doctor Who) who reprises her role in the comedy. Written by Steven Moffat and director Mark Gatiss, the team behind BBC’s Sherlock.

The story follows a couple Peter and Debbie who while on holiday make friends with Elsa, a trump loving widow from Denver. They agree to stay in touch because well no one ever really means that do they? Well, Elsa does and invites herself to stay with the family a few months later. Finding this a little strange Peter and Debbie decide to look her up online only to discover she’s a murderer. The couple now face the ultimate challenge of the modern world… how do you protect yourselves and your family from mortal peril without seeming impolite?

Because guess who’s coming… to MURDER!!

This cringe-worthy comedy will open at Wyndham’s Theatre later this year.
